Salzburg, July 03, 2020 - Electrifying partnership: FC Bayern Munich's training grounds are being made ready for the Audi e-tron. The go-ahead has been given for the construction of 38 charging points. The charging points were connected to the grid in late summer - just in time for the start of the next Bundesliga season.
Because from then on, FC Bayern's professional soccer players will be driving the Audi e-tron, the brand's first all-electric SUV. The players and team of the record holder will be able to charge their future electric cars at up to 150 kilowatts in the underground parking garage of FC Bayern's home on Säbener Straße.
At the beginning of next year, Audi also plans to equip the Allianz Arena in Munich with charging points - which will then also benefit fans and visitors.
It was only in January that FC Bayern München and Audi announced their partnership, which has been extended until 2029. In the coming years, the two partners intend to cooperate strategically, particularly on innovative marketing campaigns and electrification.
More than half of FC Bayern's Audi fleet will be electrified starting in the fall. This will enable FC Bayern to reduce its fleet consumption to below 95 grams of CO2/km by the start of the Bundesliga season, thus making an important contribution to sustainability. This is in line with the legal requirement for manufacturer fleets from January 2021.
Charging stations from MOON POWER, a brand of Porsche Holding Salzburg, will be used throughout.
